Museum Keepers Program
The Museum Keepers program is a great opportunity for those with a special skill set to help out the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac! These volunteers will work “behind the scenes” to enrich visitors’ experience by maintaining and repairing the museums facilities and exhibits. CMFDL is looking for those with engineering, woodworking, painting (both flat & decorative), sewing, gardening and any other basic handy man or woman skills to help us create this group!
Responsibilities may include:
- Touch up painting of exhibits and museum walls
- Repairing broken exhibits
- Repairing torn puppets or costumes
- Sewing costumes for the children
- Pulling weeds, harvesting fruits and veggies, watering the gardens
- Hanging shelves, cabinets, curtains
- Adding artistic and creative touches throughout with woodworking, painting, metalwork, etc.
This group meets on Mondays. Volunteer shifts are flexible and based on your availability.
Volunteer shifts for watering the gardens are from 8 AM to 11 AM and 4 PM to 5 PM. This begins in May/June-weather permitting.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18. All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and be willing to submit to a background check.

Play Partners Program
The Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac is proud to offer new opportunities for volunteers. Our Play Partners volunteer program enriches our visitors’ experience by working with CMFDL staff to provide a safe and fun museum experience.
Responsibilities may include: interacting with visitors, straightening and organizing exhibit areas, cleaning, reviewing museum rules and policy and encouraging visitors to act in a way that promotes safety for themselves, others and the exhibits.
Volunteer shifts are from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
Currently, volunteering will be limited to adults over the age of 18.
All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and be willing to submit to a background check.
