Volunteering has a tremendous impact on children and is both rewarding and fun at the Museum!

Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult unless they have completed the Discovery Guide Training Program.

Discovery Guide Program & Special Event Volunteers

Discovery Guide volunteers help provide visitors with a safe and fun museum experience. Responsibilities include: interacting with families to promote creativity and growth, playing games, doing projects, and straightening and organizing exhibit areas.

All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and be willing to submit to a background check.


Museum Keepers Program

Share your special skill set with the Children’s Museum!  Museum Keepers work “behind the scenes” to enrich visitors’ experience by maintaining and repairing the facility.  CMFDL is looking for painters, sewers, woodworkers, gardeners, engineers, computer techies, and handymen/women.

This group generally meets on Mondays. Volunteer shifts are flexible.

All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and be willing to submit to a background check.
