Science Festival Helpers

Do you love science?  On October 19th, a Professor of Genetics from UW-Madison will be extracting DNA at the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac as part of the WI State Science Festival.  YOU can be involved by volunteering to be a lab assistant!  Come and put a lab coat on and help extract DNA!

You can also volunteer at one of our interactive science stations on October 19th and 20th.  You can help children explore how polar bears stay warm with the use of blubber gloves!  Or assist children in exploring the wonders of static electricity.

Both opportunities do not require any prior science background, and both are guaranteed to be lively and fun!  Science Festival volunteers are needed from 9:30am-1:00pm.

Discovery Guide Program & Special Event Volunteers

Discovery Guide volunteers help provide visitors with a safe and fun museum experience. Responsibilities include: interacting with families to promote creativity and growth, playing games, doing projects, and straightening and organizing exhibit areas.

All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and be willing to submit to a background check.

Museum Keepers Program

Share your special skill set with the Children’s Museum!  Museum Keepers work “behind the scenes” to enrich visitors’ experience by maintaining and repairing the facility.  CMFDL is looking for painters, sewers, woodworkers, gardeners, engineers, computer techies, and handymen/women.

This group generally meets on Mondays. Volunteer shifts are flexible.

All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and be willing to submit to a background check.

To become a Museum Keeper contact Ann Meyers at (920) 929-0707 or email ann@cmfdl.org.
