Dear Friend of the Museum,

At an early age, my son was a puzzle kid. He was drawn to solving problems and brain games, so puzzles, chess, and Rubik’s cubes were his toys of choice. He grew up at the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac… exploring, learning, creating and celebrating birthdays.  Now a high schooler, he spent his summer back at the museum sharing his skills in Mind Puzzles, a class ignited by his passion.

Puzzles and brain games require persistence, patience and practice.  Puzzles are creative and collaborative and when you stick with it, the end result is inspiring. As I reflect back on this year, it truly was a puzzle and our museum has been inspiring! I am proud to have been a part of it.

At first when the doors closed in 2020 and we were no longer that family destination, we questioned how our piece of the puzzle fit in the greater community. I am proud to say that we quickly pivoted. Using creativity, collaboration and sticking to our mission, we picked up the pieces and re-opened to the general public in March 2021, better than before. We learned we are a vital part of the Fond du Lac puzzle in many ways:

  • As an Educational Site
  • As a Community Resource
  • As an Advocate for Children
  • And of course, as a Local Destination

Re-opening the doors and returning to be a destination of joy and playfulness was a welcomed sight. For many of our families, CMFDL was the missing piece to their puzzle.

The community response has been tremendous and we continue to welcome families back and work towards our goal of surpassing our record-high 2019 numbers.

We were able to navigate these unprecedented times BECAUSE OF YOU! With your continued help, we will reach more children and families than ever before at a time when they need it most. We are a necessary piece of the puzzle to help children heal, learn and grow so that they can be   a part of a community that we are all proud of.

Our post pandemic landscape is not the same because we have grown into a better picture.  Our picture is wider and shows more connection to the community.  While some of our revenue is generated through admissions and membership, most comes from donations from individuals and businesses. By donating to this year’s annual appeal, you will be helping the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac continue to make a positive impact on our community.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Annual Appeal Chair and President-Elect
