Michels Supports Summer Celebration
Posted on: Aug 10th, 2014
Kids, Families, Community, Progress – There are a lot of reasons to enjoy a Summer Celebration with the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac on Saturday, August 16th. This event sponsored by Michels Corporation celebrates the Museum’s “birthday” and one-year anniversary of its Grand Re-Opening at 75 West Scott Street. Over 46,000 visitors have enjoyed the museum in the last year, coming from 42 different states and 12 countries.
The Children’s Museum invites families and friends to visit and participate in a variety of summer-themed activities, including face-painting by Betty Trent, outdoor games, and a bounce house from Jakes Jumpers. Out in front of the Museum, visitors can throw at the dunk tank and enjoy free street entertainment. Inside the Museum, while families play, they can dance and listen to music with the help of a live DJ from Record Entertainment. The first 100 children to attend the event will receive a free t-shirt with help from Hopper’s Silk Screening and All Star Trophy.
At 1:00 pm, a live release of 50 Monarchs will take place to celebrate the new Butterfly Garden in WinnePLAYgo, the Museum’s 10,000 square foot outdoor play space. This space has been made possible by donor support and the volunteer contributions by friends from the Master Gardeners and Otter Creek Landscaping, Dr. Brenda Grass, Melissa Hierl, Lisa Mick and many others, including area youth.
The Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac’s Summer Celebration will be Saturday, August 16th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. No registration is required, and the event is included free with membership or general admission of $6 per person. Passes also available at the WIC offices.
