CitizensFirst Contribution to Museum’s Capital Campaign Provides Opportunity to Meet Santa

Posted on: Nov 27th, 2013

The new location for the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac at 75 W Scott Street in the Waterfront District is the perfect place to meet with Santa this holiday season while enjoying a variety of festive activities. Bring your family to this wonderful event Saturday, December 7 from 10 am until 4 pm, and then head to the city’s Holiday Parade on Main Street.

The Museum’s new facility is a result of their current Grow with Us capital campaign, of which CitizensFirst was an early supporter; and the Museum’s annual “Christmas Around the World” event is sponsored exclusively by CitizensFirst.

“CitizensFirst is proud to help put children first as a contributor to the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac’s Grow with Us campaign and to the Christmas Around the World program,” William Wuske, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of CitizensFirst said.

This “magical” holiday event will be filled with wonder and play.  Admission to the Museum is only $6, but free to Museum members.  The public is welcome to enjoy the festivities, including:

Trees Around the World – More than half a dozen trees will be beautifully adorned with decorations hand-crafted by local scouting groups and students from Chegwin Elementary, Lomira Elementary, Marian University Early Childhood, St. Mary’s Springs Academy, Waters Elementary and students in the Passport to the Holidays class at the Children’s Museum.

Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus – Santa and Mrs. Claus will welcome children in the museum’s new classroom space from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.  Visits with Santa are free, and the first 150 children will receive a gift from Mrs. Claus. Parents are welcome and encouraged to bring their own cameras for what is sure to be a great photo opportunity.

Interactive Holiday Show  – An interactive holiday show for children of all ages will be performed by The Voice and Acting Studio from 3:00 – 4:00 pm.  The show is included with admission.

Ornament Making – The first 150 kids can add some personal flair to their home Christmas tree with this in-museum craft activity.  Supplies are included with the price of admission.

Gingerbread Cookie Decorating & Tea Party – GIANT cookies are looking for help from young culinary artists!  Children can enjoy a real tea party along with their cookies.  These stations are included with the price of admission.  The cookies, frosting and all the fixings are donated by Festival Foods and CitizensFirst.

Gift Certificates – Give the “Gift of Play” this holiday season. Gift certificates and gift passes make great family gifts and stocking stuffers! Gift certificates may be used for daily admission, memberships or classes.

Window Decorations – Festive holiday scenes adorn the Museum’s windows, courtesy of Fond du Lac High School’s art department.
