Posted on: Sep 19th, 2018

Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac is excited to welcome Eva Thelen as the new Education and Program Manager.

Museum visitors may recognize Eva from her many other teaching experiences in and around the Fond du Lac area, including St. Mary’s Springs Academy, the Fond du Lac Family YMCA, and Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts. Through these leadership roles, Eva accumulated knowledge in working with children, managing events, creating engaging course materials and teaching educational programs.

“Eva’s past experiences, coupled with her strategic mindset and positive nature will bring great value to museum visitors.  I am eager to work with her to support existing and new collaborations focused on child development,” notes Andrea Welsch, the Museum’s Executive Director.

Eva has a bachelor’s degree in Music from Marian University. She is also a regularly featured soloist with the Fond du Lac Symphonic Band and the Lighthouse Big Band, and serves as a member of the Fond du Lac Community Theater Board of Directors. When Eva is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, her son, Arthur, and two cats. As a family they enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, baking, being outside, and throwing brunch parties.

“I’m passionate about holistic education, music, theater, composition, science and art,” Eva explains, “I developed a passion for children’s educational programming, and have had the privilege of working with hundreds of students through classroom teaching, private lessons, and theater directing.”

Coming into the Education and Program Manager role, Eva will be involved in planning classes, programs, and events, coordinating activities with community partners and facilitating educational outreach. Families can meet Eva at any of the Children’s Museum’s upcoming programs and classes she will be teaching, such as Maker Lab (Wednesdays); Music, Museum & Me (Thursdays) and
Brain Builders (Fridays).
