Children’s Museum Celebrates 100,000th Visitor
Posted on: Oct 9th, 2012
The Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac marked a major milestone Tuesday, October 9 when the 100,000th visitor arrived. Paula Klapperich of Fond du Lac – a longtime member and supporter of the museum – was recognized as the 100,000th visitor and awarded an 18-month membership to the museum. Klapperich was visiting with her children (Megan, 3, Benjamin, 2 and baby Catherine). Klapperich’s parents, Rose and David Schneider, as well as her friend, Ashley Sweno arrived at the museum with her.
“The timing of our 100,000th visitor could not have been more perfect, following the announcement of our museum’s relocation and expansion. The energy and excitement leading up to both of these milestones is a tribute to our great community that values family and supports our youth,” commented Andrea Welsch, the museum’s executive director.
The museum announced its “Count-up” to the 100,000th visitor last month. The 2,000 visitors leading up to the 100,000th received special surprises, like coupons for free Gilles’ slushies and movie rentals, t-shirts and sweatshirts, and other fun treats. The museum is preparing for its relocation to 75 W. Scott Street and will remain open for play through October. Their annual – and highly popular – “Spooktacular” 3-day event October 26-28 will mark the final days the museum is open before a temporary shutdown. The public is invited to visit www.cmfdl.org frequently for the latest news of events and activities while the museum is “on the move”.
