Field Trips

In-School Programs

Special Offer for 4th Grade Classrooms
On Wednesday, October 17th 2018

Moola Mania is a two-hour free field trip program offered at the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac. This event encourages students to cultivate healthy personal financial skills by educating future generations of consumers. The content in Moola Mania aligns with 4th grade personal financial literacy curriculum and performance standards.

During the field trip, your students will be able to earn “Museum Moola” by performing a number of “jobs” around the Museum. After they have completed their jobs and income has been earned, students will have a chance to make financial decisions such as saving, sharing, and spending.

Due to the generous sponsorship of Verve, A Credit Union, we are able to provide this program free of charge to two schools. If selected, you will be notified on or before September 21st. If not selected for the free field trip opportunity on Wednesday, October 17th, your school is still invited to participate at a reduced rate of $5 per student on the day of your choosing.

To apply for the October 17 field trip, click here and send application to or mail to:

The U.S. Department of Labor estimates that by 2020 there will be more than 1.4 million computing-related job openings, one of the nation’s fastest growing sectors.  National statistics indicate that women represent less than 28% of this workforce and the number is declining rapidly. Information gathered from leaders of local middle school and high school robotics programs indicate that by this age, the gender gap is already apparent, with 90-100% of participants being males.  Exposure to more positive, engaging and fun computer related programs needs to target girls at an early age.

Coding with Dash and Dot was developed and piloted in 2018 to introduce girls to a field that is largely underrepresented by females and support the development of technology literacy, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

If your school or organization is interested in sharing this quality hands on learning experience with girls in 3rd – 5th grade, please complete this application and return to Eva Thelen at or mail to:
